Donkey Milk Soap (Fragrance Free)

For people with sensitive skin, sometimes even a scent can prove irritating. So we created an ordinary bar of Donkey Milk Soap without a scent. This soap is a plain handmade bar, with no fragrance but some Kaolin clay to give it a snow white colour and provide exfoliation. It looks like a freshly cut block of Mozzarella cheese! You rub this between your hands for 15-20 seconds and it gives you a great creamy lather that is soothing and naturally moisturising on the skin!
Donkey milk has been valued for thousands of years, both as a natural cleanser and moisturiser for the skin and as a drink with nutritional and health benefits.
- In ancient Egypt (around 50BC) Cleopatra, kept 700 donkeys so she could take her daily bath in their milk.
- In ancient Rome (around 50AD), Poppaea, wife of Emperor Nero washed her face 7 times daily with Donkeys Milk, attesting that it reduced wrinkles and made the skin more delicate.
- Back in 350BC, Hippocrates, the founding father of medicine recommended Donkeys Milk for various ailments from asthma and skin conditions to upset stomachs.
Moving forward to present day Leitrim, we have positive reviews from people around the world who have used our soaps and have found relief from sensitive skin, psoriasis, eczema and acne.
